Motorists Want $100M in Damages Over High Sulfur in Gasoline


Some motorists have dis­cov­ered bro­ken fuel gauges after fill­ing up with high-sul­fur gaso­line and are now suing Shell Oil Com­pa­ny and refin­er Moti­va Enter­pris­es for $100 mil­lion in dam­ages. Four-hun­dred Shell and Tex­a­co gas sta­tions had to be closed just before Memo­r­i­al Day week­end and the Flori­da Cir­cuit Court esti­mates one mil­lion vehi­cle own­ers used the defec­tive gas.
