Congress finally passed an energy bill, the first overhaul of US energy policies in 13 years. The bill was approved in the Senate with a 74–26 vote, despite the view of some that it doesn’t do enough to reduce US oil consumption. Meanwhile, the transportation bill was passed in the House and is on the way to the Senate.
