Study: Side Air Bags Have Potential to Save 2000 Lives Each Year


A new IIHS study finds head-pro­tect­ing side air bags could reduce dri­ver deaths by up to 37%, more for SUV dri­vers. Side-impact crash­es are sec­ond to frontal crash­es in the rate of fatal­i­ties and kill about 9,300 peo­ple a year in the US.
