Study: Boosting Torque Ratings Improves Fuel Economy of Truck Fleets

Truck fleets often use engines too small for their applications thinking they can reduce acquisition and operating costs. Drivers over revving these engines to compensate actually reduce fuel economy compared to using a slightly larger torque engine with proper gear ratios for the application.
