Splitsville for Chrysler, Chery

The global economic downturn has scuttled the partnership between Chrysler and China’s Chery Automobile. The two automakers were jointly developing a small car for Dodge. Chrysler and Chery have agreed to end the relationship. Sales in the U.S. and China have suffered recently. Chrysler has a weak international presence and will be affected more than the up and coming Chery. The move may be another indication of Cerberus’ intention to sell Chrysler.
