Study Says Hybrids, Clean Diesels Have Lower Cost of Ownership

- July 4, 2012’s annual study of vehicle ownership costs says that hybrids and “clean diesel” vehicles have lower cost of ownership than their gasoline-burning counterparts. The Volkswagen Jetta TDI topped the list with five-year cost savings of $6,210 over the gasoline-burning Jetta. This was the first year clean-diesel technology was included in the study, which IntelliChoice thinks could be a “game changer” in North America.
