Clean Diesel Cars May Not be Enough for German Automakers

Ger­man automak­ers are sell­ing “clean” diesel vehi­cles in the U.S. mar­ket but are con­cerned Amer­i­cans may not embrace diesel engines. BMW showed a hybrid, and Audi demon­strat­ed its elec­tric e-Tron Con­cept at the LA Auto Show. GM and Toy­ota aren’t plan­ning on bring­ing clean diesels to mar­ket and are empha­siz­ing hybrids and plug-ins.
