Insur­ance Insti­tute for High­way Safe­ty and Con­sumer Reports rec­om­mend that risky teenage dri­vers be restrict­ed to vehi­cles oth­er than performance/sports cars, pick­ups or SUVs. Vehi­cles dri­ven by teenagers should include max­i­mum safe­ty equip­ment. Elec­tron­ic sta­bil­i­ty con­trol which won’t be required until MY2012 is con­sid­ered the most effec­tive safe­ty fea­ture.
