Japanese Automakers Face Continuing Issues, Some Plants Remain Closed

While some Japan­ese automak­ers are plan­ning to reopen their fac­to­ries in Japan, oth­ers may remain closed for anoth­er week. There are con­cerns over the pow­er grid and the sup­ply of com­po­nent parts. To add to the prob­lems cre­at­ed by the earth­quake, some mer­chant ships may be avoid­ing the port of Tokyo due to fear of radi­a­tion expo­sure.
