Plant Production Ramping Up as Makers Compete for Share

Japan­ese automak­ers and domes­tic com­peti­tors are ramp­ing up assem­bly plant pro­duc­tion. Japan­ese mak­ers are strug­gling to restore out­put in North Amer­i­ca and domes­tic man­u­fac­tur­ers see an oppor­tu­ni­ty to increase mar­ket share, an incen­tive for crank­ing up pro­duc­tion. Toy­ota and Hon­da say pro­duc­tion is bounc­ing back ear­li­er than antic­i­pat­ed.
