Detroit Free Press - July 25, 2011

Ford reported $2.4 billion earnings in the second quarter of 2011. That’s lower than the $2.6 billion reported in the same quarter last year, but better than analysts expected given higher materials costs and sales of smaller, less profitable vehicles like Focus and Fiesta. The lion’s share of the profits — $1.9 billion — came from North America.
