Has OnStar Become ‘Big Brother’?

The Detroit Bureau - September 21, 2011

OnStar has made some recent terms of service changes that have privacy advocates and others up in arms. People are primarily agitated that OnStar says it may continue tracking vehicles and collecting data like location and speed after the service is canceled, unless they’re specifically asked not to do so. OnStar claims the changes were made for ‘benign’ reasons such as remote vehicle diagnostics or emergency weather warnings for former customers.
