63% in Favor, Ford Workers Approve UAW Contract

Despite ear­ly oppo­si­tion to the new four-year con­tract Ford worked out with the UAW, union work­ers at the com­pa­ny have vot­ed to approve, with 63% in favor. Over 22,000 work­ers said yes to the con­tract, while near­ly 13,000 opposed it. Under the new con­tract, work­ers will get prof­it-shar­ing checks, infla­tion-adjust­ment checks, and oth­er bonus­es worth $16,700 or more in the next four years.
