Autodata: Incentives Down 3.5% in September

Accord­ing to Auto­da­ta, aver­age incen­tive spend­ing per aver­age vehi­cle sold in the U.S. fell 3.5% in Sep­tem­ber (com­pared with Sep­tem­ber 2010), to $2,653 per vehi­cle — all while beat­ing indus­try sales fore­casts. Indus­try­wide sales for light-vehi­cles reached a sea­son­al­ly adjust­ed annu­al­ized rate of 13.1 mil­lion in Sep­tem­ber.
