EVs Playing Significant Role at 2012 ACT Expo

Fleets of all types are acquir­ing more elec­tric vehi­cles than had been expect­ed this ear­ly in the process – cor­po­rate, util­i­ty, rental, gov­ern­ment, truck­ing – fleets are play­ing an impor­tant role. It was also inter­est­ing to see the sig­nif­i­cant role they’ll be play­ing in this year’s Alter­na­tive Clean Trans­porta­tion (ACT) Expo, being held May 15–17 at the con­ven­tion cen­ter in Long Beach, Calif. Elec­tri­fi­ca­tion will play a big role this year across the spec­trum of light-, medi­um-, and heavy-duty elec­tric vehi­cles, tech­nolo­gies, and equip­ment. EV experts at ACT Expo 2012 will include Mark Aubry, vice pres­i­dent sales and mar­ket­ing, Nav­is­tar Defense and mem­ber of the Elec­tri­fi­ca­tion Lead­er­ship Coun­cil; Jon Cole­man, sus­tain­abil­i­ty and tech­nol­o­gy offi­cer, Ford Motor Co.; Mike O’Connell, senior direc­tor sup­ply chain fleet, Frito-Lay; Ian Wright, CEO of Wright­speed; Ter­ry O’Day, region­al direc­tor, eVgo; Dave Barth­muss, group man­ag­er, pol­i­cy and prod­uct com­mu­ni­ca­tions, Gen­er­al Motors; and many oth­ers.

Elec­tric vehi­cles, includ­ing hybrid-elec­tric, that will be on dis­play and in some cas­es avail­able for test-dri­ves include: BYD Motor Inc. E6-B; Chevro­let Express Van (VIA Motors); elec­tric sedans includ­ing Chevy Colt, CODA sedan, Hon­da Fit EV, Toy­ota Prius Plug-In Hybrid, and Toy­ota RAV4-EV; plus a wide range of hybrid and elec­tric trucks and vans.
