Many Young Drivers Text Despite the Risk
According to a Consumer Reports survey (June, 2012 edition), 8 in 10 young drivers between 16 and 21 years of age say texting behind the wheel is dangerous, yet nearly one-third (29 percent) of them admit to doing it. Most said they saw other young drivers doing it, and almost half said they had witnessed mom or dad talking on a hand-held phone while driving.
