Deal­ers will have to hus­tle to come up with cre­ative ideas to bring younger buy­ers – many unem­ployed or just unin­ter­est­ed – into the show­room. Sales will suf­fer from a gen­er­a­tion of “new dri­vers who are real­ly not even inter­est­ed in get­ting a license,” accord­ing to John Hof­feck­er, man­ag­ing direc­tor at Alix­Part­ners, call­ing this demo­graph­ic Gen­er­a­tion N (aka mil­len­ni­als) for “neu­tral about dri­ving.”
