Chinese Automaker SAIC Coming to America

Shang­hai Auto­mo­tive Indus­tries Cor­po­ra­tion, China’s largest automak­er, has opened a new out­post in Birm­ing­ham, Michi­gan (Detroit sub­urb) to build clos­er ties with one of its prin­ci­pal part­ners, Gen­er­al Motors – as well as oth­er North Amer­i­can automak­ers and sup­pli­ers. “I believe SAIC USA will con­tin­ue to work as a bridge and link between SAIC Motor and the U.S. auto indus­try,” said SAIC Motor Chair­man Maoyuan Hu.
