Whole­sale used vehi­cle prices tracked on the Man­heim Used Vehi­cle Val­ue Index con­tin­ued their down­ward cycle in July – down 1.8% from the pre­vi­ous month and 3.7% from a year ago. That makes four months in a row where the decline was larg­er than the pre­ced­ing month.

Is Dis­as­ter Loom­ing or Is It Close to Nor­mal?:
Man­heim Con­sult­ing calls it order­ly realign­ment of prices, not a free fall.

Econ­o­my Not Back Yet, but New Prices at Impres­sive Pace:
SAAR at 14.1M, while man­u­fac­tur­ers con­tin­ue to main­tain inven­to­ry and pric­ing dis­ci­pline.

Small and Mid­size Cars Weak­en Most in Resale Val­ue:
20% rise in gaso­line prices over past 5 weeks did not stem com­pact and small car price decline.
