November was a very satisfying month for Ford Motor Co. – its . The advertising blitz for the C-Max hybrid and plug-in models versus the Toyota Prius seems to be paying off. The 2013 C-Max Hybrid beat out its closest rival, the Toyota Prius V, with 3,182 units sold compared to 2,769 for the Prius V. The C-Max Energi sales was approaching 4,400 units sold by the end of the month, a very strong month for the plug-in electric vehicle category.
November was also the first full month for sales of the Ford Fusion Hybrid. The Fusion benefited from winning the 2013 Green Car of the Year award, as well. As for the C-Max hybrid, Ford did very well in sales competition, taking a big step forward in conquest sales, vehicles sold to buyers previously loyal to another brand. The Toyota Prius topped the competitive trade-in list, followed by the non-hybrid Honda CR-V.
