A Bay Area Startup Syncs Smartphones to Vehicles

A device that could poten­tial­ly become an indus­try stan­dard for vehi­cle-to-smart­phone con­nec­tiv­i­ty will be offered by a San Fran­cis­co start­up to grade and assist dri­vers. A com­pa­ny called Auto­mat­ic announced that it is accept­ing pre-order for Auto­mat­ic Link, which when paired with an iPhone can score dri­ving behav­ior includ­ing key met­rics, road trip track­ing, and park­ing spots. Auto­mat­ic Link can alert dri­vers of vehi­cle issues when out­side of the car as well.
