Driverless Cars — the Key to Solving Distracted Driving?

In the next decade there will be more dri­ver­less cars that will allow pas­sen­gers to be as dis­tract­ed as they wish, said a pan­el of engi­neers at the 2013 SAE World Con­gress, on April 16. Chris­t­ian Schu­mach­er, head of advanced dri­ver assis­tance sys­tems with sup­pli­er Con­ti­nen­tal esti­mates that par­tial­ly auto­mat­ed cars will be on the road in sig­nif­i­cant num­bers by 2016.
