What the Car Care Council Can Do for You
April is National Car Care month. The Car Care Council is a not-for-profit organization with a simple mission: educate consumers on the need to properly maintain their cars. Isn’t that what you want your customers to understand? Besides an ongoing effort via national media and the social web (utilizing Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn), the Council promotes and supports two annual events designed to help you attract new business, reinforce your relationship with your current customers and do a little something for the community.
April presents a great opportunity for your shop to open its arms and invite the community in. Strangely enough, most consumers abhor the idea of a mandatory vehicle inspection and don’t think much more of the ones you perform for them while their car is in the shop, but the idea of having a professional “once over” done for free as part of this event is very appealing to them. Most businesses that have participated once, will participate again and are seeing gains in their bottom line after the events.
The second is in October, and helps consumers prepare for the demands of winter while providing a second opportunity to get your shop’s name out in the public eye.
And the Car Care Council has the tools and advice you need to make your event a success.
You can speak to Rich White, executive director of the Car Care Council to learn more. Listen to what he has to say, then log onto their site and open up the Industry Toolbox to prepare for your event. Be sure to post it on the events page on the site AND on their Facebook page!
