Subaru of America Sees its Sales Skyrocket, Penske Operating BMW Parts Distribution Center, Chevin Rolls Out FleetWave 2.1

Sub­aru Sales Up 25% Over a Year Ago and Oth­er Bench­marks Met
Sub­aru of Amer­i­ca, Inc. report­ed 32,943 vehi­cle sales for April 2013, a 25% increase over April 2012 and the best-ever April sales month in com­pa­ny his­to­ry. Year-to-date sales for Sub­aru total 125,470– a 17% increase over the same peri­od in 2012. These results build on strong sales from 2012 where Sub­aru achieved five con­sec­u­tive years of sales increas­es and exceed­ed 300,000 annu­al sales in 2012 – a first in com­pa­ny his­to­ry. April sales for the all-new 2014 Forester increased 65 per­cent over April 2012 Forester sales. XV Crosstrek and BRZ sales were also notably strong at 4433 and 812, respec­tive­ly. The com­pa­ny expects to sales of the Forester and XV Crosstrek to con­tin­ue to grow through the year.

Penske Logis­tics Oper­at­ing BMW of North America’s Parts Dis­tri­b­u­tion Cen­ter
Penske Logis­tics has been award­ed the con­tract to be the oper­a­tional man­ag­er of the BMW of North Amer­i­ca parts dis­tri­b­u­tion cen­ter in Nazareth, Pa. Finan­cial terms were not dis­closed. Under the agree­ment, Penske Logis­tics will pro­vide a trained labor force for the after­sales ware­hous­ing and ful­fill­ment facil­i­ty that cur­rent­ly sup­plies auto­mo­tive parts, motor­cy­cle parts, and lifestyle items for dis­tri­b­u­tion to BMW Group deal­er­ships in North Amer­i­ca. Penske Logis­tics will begin oper­a­tional man­age­ment of the 875,000 square foot facil­i­ty start­ing July 1. Employ­ment con­ti­nu­ity will be offered to the employ­ees at the facil­i­ty. “We are col­lab­o­rat­ing close­ly to ensure a smooth tran­si­tion of the oper­a­tions and in wel­com­ing the employ­ees into our orga­ni­za­tion,” said Penske Logis­tics Pres­i­dent Marc Althen.

Chevin Fleet Solu­tions Brings Out Fleet­Wave 2.1
Fleet soft­ware spe­cial­ist Chevin Fleet Solu­tions has unveiled its lat­est prod­uct offer­ing to an audi­ence of cus­tomers from across the pri­vate and pub­lic sec­tors. Announc­ing the launch of the next gen­er­a­tion of the firm’s flag­ship fleet man­age­ment soft­ware appli­ca­tion, Fleet­Wave, the 2.1 ver­sion will see a host of enhance­ments and addi­tion­al func­tion­al­i­ty includ­ing a more sophis­ti­cat­ed report writ­ing tool, which will enable faster and more effi­cient access to spe­cif­ic data dur­ing the report­ing process. Oth­er ben­e­fits include Excel-style browse fil­ter­ing, improved data rules func­tion­al­i­ty and an odome­ter cor­rec­tion tool. The upgrad­ed ver­sion will be avail­able to most cus­tomers cur­rent­ly using the lat­est ver­sion of the soft­ware at no addi­tion­al cost.
