How Mobility is Playing a Huge Role with Vehicle Remarketers

Remar­keters have seen the used vehi­cle process change dra­mat­i­cal­ly in the past cou­ple of years with upstream chan­nels, diverse online auc­tions, and mobile appli­ca­tions play­ing an increas­ing­ly impor­tant part of process.

Man­heim has been on the front line with mobile. Check out this video inter­view with Rumon Lasker, Senior Project Man­ag­er at Man­heim, where he talks about how his com­pa­ny has incor­po­rat­ed mobile into each aspect of the remar­ket­ing jour­ney.

That comes down to three phas­es of vehi­cle remar­ket­ing through auc­tions – buy­ing, sell­ing, and man­ag­ing inven­to­ry

1. Buy­ing – Remar­keters can use mobile for being in two places at the same time. You can stand in one auc­tion lane and bid, and use your mobile device to bid for anoth­er car at anoth­er auc­tion lane at the same time.

2. Sell­ing – You can list and sell your vehi­cles through myMo­bile on Man­heim. Cus­tomers can take pic­tures and videos of their vehi­cles from their mobile device and list them on Manheim’s online auc­tion in real time.

3. Man­ag­ing Inven­to­ry – Man­heim offers a mobile solu­tion for that part of the process, too. Man­heim recent­ly added the My Pur­chas­es fea­ture for mobile devices, where you can use your mobile device to see all the vehi­cles you’ve bought in the last 30 days. Details include vehi­cle sta­tus­es, title, and pay­ment infor­ma­tion.

Mobile is mak­ing a huge dif­fer­ence for Man­heim, Lasker said. Man­heim has about one mil­lion vis­its a month on mobile plat­forms that cus­tomers are using. About 47% of all Man­heim users are now mobile users as well. Mobile can­not be ignored any­more by the remar­ket­ing busi­ness.
